    The Red cliffs

    The Famous red-coloured cliffs at Woody Point visible from the bay.
    The city's name originates from "Red Cliff Point" named by the Lieutenant(later Captain) Matthew Flinders one of the first men to step foot on the Peninsula.

    The Gayundah

    After 40 years of transporting gravel, the Gayundah was considered to be of no further service and was towed to the base of the Woody Point cliffs and left to act as a breakwater.

    Houghton Highway and Ted Smout Memorial Bridge

    The new Ted Smout Memorial Bridge is the third to span Bramble Bay, linking Sandgate and Brighton in the south, with Clontarf and Redcliffe in the north.
    It is Australia's longest bridge.

    The Redcliffe Jetty

    The Redcliffe Jetty has been considered the heart of the Peninsula since The late 1800s.
    In 1881 Rev John Sutton and other landowners requested that a Jetty be built at Redcliffe Point.
    The Third Redcliffe Jetty opened In 1999.

    Settlement Cove Lagoon

    The Settlement Cove Lagoon also known as the Redcliffe Lagoon is located in the heart of Redcliffe.
    A visit to Redcliffe is not complete without visiting the artificial lagoon and amphitheater at Settlement Cove. Built in 1993.

    The Festival of Sails event is held on Good Friday every year and is hosted at Suttons Beach, more than 25,000 visitors attend this seaside carnival.

U3A Community Website

Welcome To U3A Redcliffe Inc.

This U3A has members on the Redcliffe Peninsula and surrounding areas.
Members enrolled are living in some Northern Brisbane areas, e.g. Bracken Ridge, Sandgate, Deagon, Brighton, Lawnton, Albany Creek, Kurwongbah, Deception Bay, Caboolture & Burpengary.

U3A is short for University of the Third Age. We have many Courses in many Categories Such as Computers, Craft, Languages, Music, History Etc.
We are located on the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula In the Sutton Centre.

• There are more than 80 different classes held at our campus at The Sutton Centre, Sutton Street Redcliffe. Some courses are held at outside venues.
• Since all our tutors are volunteers, costs of courses can be kept to an absolute minimum. Some courses may require the purchase of a book or photocopies.
• Social events, Bus trips, Morning Teas, Concerts etc. are also regular features
